Hasanamba History

 

 

Sri Hassanamba Jatra Mahotsav is one of the annual special Jatra festivals of Karnataka. Once a year, the door of the Hassanamba Devi Temple is opened and allowed for universal darshan. According to the calendar of each year, there is an opportunity for a day or 12 days.

The people here say that when the door of the temple of Hassanamba is opened, the burning lamp, the flavor of the flower dedicated to God, and the past year to God are not. After religious rituals, the district administration open the door of the Devi Gudi in the presence of priests, dignitaries and media representatives.

 

 

 

The inscriptions found in this place have been found that the shrine of Sri Siddheshwara and Sri Hassanamba Devi was founded in the 7th century in the 7th century.

It is believed that Sri Hassanamba is the Shakti Swarupini and according to the place mythology, the Saptha Matras came to Hassan from Varanasi for an air excursion, including the Vaishnavi, Maheshwari and Kaumari deities living around the temple. Similarly, the legend says that Kenjamma and Brahmi Saptha Matras reside in various places of Allur and Hassan.

 

 

According to the mythological story, the nature of Goddess Sri Hassanamba is a symbol of devotion and alliance. In the region, the demon Andhrakasura was a suburb of the general public. It is said that Sri Hassanamba, who came to be a powerful to suppress him, was blessed with happiness, peace and tranquility in the province. The carving of the temple is seen as a Dravidian style.

Hassan can be reached by road from Bangalore (189KM, Aprox 3Hr 12Min). There is a system of Indian Railways trains and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation buses.
