District Police have started " Garuda " Service from 30-06-2000. Two vehicles in Hassan, 1 vehicle in Sakleshpur, 1 vehicle in Channarayapatna with adequate personnel service is provided to prevent violence, decoity, theft and any other emerging problems.

" Spandana, Vanitha Sahayavani" Centre is opened at the office of Superintendent of Police. This Centre counsels and solves problems of female citizens. Staff in this Centre is equipped to solve the problems effectively.

Recently " Special Task Force " has been set up with qualitatively trained 25 personnel. This Task Force is capable of handling any difficult situations including Natural Calamities and are equipped with modern equipments.

A new scheme called as "listing of households" are commenced in Hassan City. Under this particulars of each and every household residing in Hassan City are enumerated. Particulars like names, occupation, telephone No, Vehicle No. etc., are compiled for each and every house and kept in the jurisdictional police station as a ready reckoner.
